There are few better places to spend a Saturday afternoon than at The Rec (home of Bath Rugby), on a sunny autumn day.
We may have lost (again) to our dear local rivals Gloucester, but it was good to be back (I had missed the first two home games due to having a nice time in Nice).
Supporting your team is an odd and irrational relationship. Even when they lose (as Bath Rugby have been doing A LOT during the last two years), I know I will renew my season ticket.
They aren’t my family (despite what sports marketing departments would like you to believe), but I do have a sort of kinship with the club, and the players who have been before and are playing now.
Rugby is big in these parts. Which means you can easily strike up a conversation with people you only know by sight, but look like they know the difference between a ruck and a maul.
It’s also a nice way to spend time with friends. Chatting, cheering, drinking, and despairing.
It’s good to be back.
Good to have you back too. Despite the result!
